Event Details:

The City of Pickering invites you to join us on March 18, 2023 from 10 am until 1 pm in the Chestnut Hill Development Complex lobby for a commemorative ceremony honouring our front-line workers, first responders, long-term care residents, and families of the victims of Covid-19.

This event will include formal remarks by Mayor Ashe and members of Council honouring members of the community who were affected by Covid-19. Council will also present the new Meditation, Mindfulness, and Music Garden to Esplanade Park coming this spring. The event will also highlight the unveiling of permanent public artwork "Reflections" by Studio F Minus, and the installation of public art murals to be installed on Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex by Durham artists Zuna Amir and Malik McKoy.

These artworks were developed as part of the re-opening grant funding in response to the pandemic by Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) and Canadian Heritage Commemorate Canada Fund (CHCCF).

Formal remarks will be followed by a reception with live entertainment, art activities led by Arts Unleashed, a meet-and-greet with the artists, and light refreshments.
